Work In Progress

In the writing world, a work in progress is the piece you're working on. My 2019 work in progress is a middle grade historical fantasy novel about a lonely orphan girl in Illinois during World War II enlisted to help the nearly-extinct fairies living in her Aunt's back yard find the Cloaking Spell that will save their species.
My favorite space to write is this roll top desk.

While I've begun the journey to find an agent and publisher, I still consider this to be my work in progress because it could use refinement.

This novel of mine may need trimmed sentences and more efficient dialogue, but I am a work in progress, too. Aside from the spiraling worry and tendency to try to please everyone, I want to improve as a writer, a teacher, a friend, a wife.

To improve as a writer, intentionality is key. Hence, the blog.

Expect to read my thoughts
:on the publication journey
:on books I'm reading, especially historical fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, and middle grade
:reflections and observations about Life (not the cereal or the game...)
:on writing

grace and peace,
